Barbara & John on Amalfi Coast, Italy
We're forced to travel! When clients asked our advice about where to go and what to see, it was obvious that we had better find out. (It helps that there are tax deductions for travel related business.)Never thought we'd become world travelers. It started years ago when Alex made us an offer we couldn't refuse, an inexpensive ticket on a Tilley sponsored cruise to the Mediterranean.
Then we tagged along with Nikki while she worked for Princess Cruise Lines. Asia, Caribbean, Baltic, and Alaska. It's wonderful fun being welcomed as honourary crew; drinks with the dancers, tours of the engine room and bridge, free photographs. We were no longer "John and Barbara" but known to everyone as "Nikki's Mom and Dad".
Hooked by now, we took a cruise to Italy, Turkey and Greece in June 2007.
The Amalfi Coast, just outside of Naples, is a beautiful area. If you can swing it, take a trip on a bus (a small one) from Naples to Amalfi, then along the coast road back to Sorrento. The views are amazing and you'll marvel at the skill of the driver going down the switchbacks to Amalfi.
Next up would be Australia and/or the UK, but not for a couple of years since we need new carpet at the house!
