"We love a fashionable and functional travel bag. And when it’s multi-functional, well, needless to say, it’s a bona fide love affair! Our latest must-have: the Tilley Cambridge Carryall. Why it’s so great: a double snap at the base easily converts this gem into a computer bag, a purse, or a tote! What’s more, this handmade Canadian product is ever-so-stylish thanks to its Italian leather handles and adjustable strap, antique brass zipper closure, and safari green wax cotton finish. All aboard!"

Note from Tilley Vancouver we will have these new bags in store mid October!

Tilley in the Kayak Angler http://www.allpointsimmigration.com/news/kayakanglerarticle/ Dave from Tilley Endurables Inc recently appeared in the Kayak Angler Online.

"Tilley Endurables was showing their outstanding hats, including the paddle-worthy T7MO - short for Mesh Organic cotton hat. The broad brim is longer in the back, the better to keep from burning your neck. There's ventillating mesh around the crown and a retainer. It's soft, floats, repels rain, offers a secret pocket, and is insured against loss for two years."

Tilley cobber in the news! http://www.allpointsimmigration.com/news/neck-cobber/ The National Post and The Globe and Mail both recently ran articles on the neck cobbers.

The Buy: A cooling neck wrap

Nathalie Atkinson, National Post, July 21, 2011.

"Several Christmases ago my parents – whom time has proven to be genetically unable to resist a gadget or gewgaw that might be useful in only very narrowly specific circumstances – bought me this jaunty neckerwraperchief thing. Presumably, its optimum use is hiking in the Amazon jungle during a heat wave (something I have never been known to do). It’s from Australia and called the Cobber (Aussie slang for mate, apparently) and contains some magical crystals that, when soaked in cold water for 30 minutes, retain said coldness for three days. Three days.

Why wear what is essentially a mysteriously-filled cold compress wrapped around the neck? Because as a toque-covered head in winter is to keeping warm, so are the corotid arteries in summer to regulating body temperature. You could knot a waterlogged kerchief or facecloth instead, but it would drip inconveniently all over you. And then dry out. The Cobber, on the other hand, will not. It will not be particularly fashionable, either, but it will make all that tropical jungle hiking pleasantly bearable."

We're pleased to carry this item in our store for $20. For more details click here.

Tilley owners are required to be kind to rocks, bears and anything made of khaki http://www.allpointsimmigration.com/news/tilley-owners-kind-to-rocks-bears-anything-khaki/ Keep This Under Your Hat – My Tilley Is A Many-Splendored Thing

George Lee, Seaway News. June 10, 2011

"My new friend then took a few moments to explain the rules. Like operators of Volkswagen vans and motorcycles, Tilley owners are expected to exchange waves as they pass one another. Once my initiation period of seven years is up, I will be taught the secret Tilley salute, which will earn me passage into secret corridors laced with cobwebs, automatic intervener status at certain hearings of international tribunals, and excellent discounts at Home Depot. Wow. A few short minutes earlier, I didn’t even know there was such a thing as a Tilley. Sure, I’d noticed that some outdoorsy types looked more prepared and confident than others. But why? Now I knew the answer.

Tilley owners are required to be kind to rocks, bears and anything made of khaki. We are not permitted to be indecisive in certain situations, although the Tilley Board has not yet determined what those situations are. We have strict codes of conduct for all emergencies surrounding picnics, knot-tying and poorly behaved gnats."

Tilley in the Vancouver Sun http://www.allpointsimmigration.com/news/tilley-in-the-vancouver-sun/ How to go on a birding vacation without going broke.

By Myscha Theriault, McClatchy-Tribune News Service, The Vancouver Sun.

"Birding requires minimal equipment and suits a variety of travel budgets. From back yard viewing to international excursions, here are several tips for birding on a budget.

Gear: Sheridan Samano of Reefs to Rockies, a conservation tour company, advises purchasing the best pair of binoculars you can afford. It will make a difference in the level of details you’ll be able to see. Samano says it isn’t so much the size, but rather the glass quality and light-capturing capabilities that are important. Audubonguides.com sells affordable mobile field guide apps for smart phone users, while traditional paperback guides are available from both Sibley and National Geographic. A few sun-protective clothing items should also be included. Tilley makes an Audubon hat for example, that provides protection from solar rays and includes a hidden security pocket."
