Richard & Kathleen travelling the world
"As inveterate eclipse chasers, our travels have taken us to some pretty exotic places - Egypt, Madagascar, the South Pacific, the Black Sea and China.

Our Tilley togs are more than just clothes; they provide an introduction to other travelers.  After Richard was almost left behind at the Olympic Stadium on our first day in Athens, the other Tilley Hat wearers adopted him as one of their own and kept an eye on him and his Hat.  Canadians at conferences abroad have started up conversations and frendships with us when we wear our Tilleys.

Because of our travels, we feel connected to far-away places and care about preserving their natural and human-made wonders.  As breathtaking as was the sight of the Treasury at Petra, so was  the echoing of the call to prayer from the mosques that evening.  Seeing the elegant cave art of France has connected us to our Cro-Magnon ancestors.  Cavorting with sting rays off Moorea and coming close to a reef shark, made us appreciate what is going on below our cruise ship and snorkel masks.  No zoo or wildlife park can capture the feeling of standing beneath a tree full of lemurs in Madagascar or backing up your safari vehicle to make room for elephants to cross the road below Kilimanjaro.
