The first I bought in London while waiting for my wife to try on new hiking boots more than 10 years ago. Seeing the hat for the first time piqued my interest, reading the "write-up" tag and "brag tags" ensured both my wife and I bringing Tilleys back to Africa.
I lost my first Tilley hat while hunting on our farm in the Kalahari Desert - a result of being very tired and not thinking.
The second was just about destroyed when a young African Wild Dog got hold of it - I should not let it lie around in the bush!
My comments about having found the best hat was met with the usual cynicism but I dare say that within my own family and circle of friends, I have since had to buy and bring back at least twenty Tilley hats from the UK while my brother ordered as many over the internet for some of his fishing/hunting friends. Over the years I have also collected many of your other products, shirts, socks, pants and shorts. They have proven worthy of the claims made so confidently by the Tilleys."
