Nikki and James, Italy and France

James and I loved Italy! We visited Rome, Venice, Florence and then had a few days in Paris. I managed to leave my purse in the B&B most days as James' Tilley Shorts held our money, ids, bus tickets and room keys, safely and securely. I just carried the camera and the map!

Here we are at the Arc de Triomphe (Paris), a photo we adventurously had taken from standing in the middle of the Champs-Elysees (as you do).

Below is the Leaning Tower of Pisa (Florence), the Grand Canal  (Venice) and the Sacre-Coeur (Paris).

On average, it was over 32 degrees everywhere we went. My favourite outfit for the trip was my Tilley Coolmax Polo and my Tropical Blend Bermuda Shorts. I kept washing them in the sink each night and wearing them again the next day because they were the coolest in that kind of heat, while still meeting the entry requirements (covered shoulders and knees) of the churches and monuments we visited. They were also perfect for the Eurostar train.

Our favourite city was Venice, particularly at night after most of the day-tours had left, it was quiet and almost like we had the city to ourselves.
